Proverbs and naturalness in mother-tongue translation: the Dagaare New Testament in perspective

Abstract: This paper argues that the use of proverbs in translating the Bible into mother-tongues constitutes an essential ingredient to naturalness in the receptor-language text, thereby enhancing acceptability.
