“…Recent randomized controlled trials demonstrate that cranberry juice has been shown to prevent bacteriuria in elderly people and UTI in women and it has been suggested as an alternative to antibiotic therapy for prevention of UTI 4 . The mechanisms for its beneficial effect were thought to involve urine acidification by an increase in hippuric acid secretion, 7 action by inhibiting the adhesion of Escherichia Coli , 8 and an anti‐inflammatory effect through their antioxidant function 9 .
