“…Under the blast loading, those protective coating will suffer large deformation in a short time, and the coating will absorb a large amount of shock energy due to its viscoelastic material properties [3,4]. Besides, the mismatch of the impedance between the coating and the hard substrate results in the shock wave continuously reflecting at the interface, and this will lead to the attenuation of the shock [5][6][7].Yong Chen et al [6] experimental investigated the blast resistance of rubber material coated on the floating structures subjected to underwater explosive loading.
