Objective: Infertility, defined as the inability to conceive after one year of intercourse without the use of contraception, affects 15% of couples. Many factors, such as genitourinary tract infections, endocrine disorders, immunological factors and drug-related injuries, affect the male reproductive system and cause infertility. Due to men's fear of infertility, it is very important to pay attention to medicinal plants that are effective in male fertility. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the medicinal plants that affect sperm and testosterone production in men.Methods: In this review, we used the following search terms, consisting of herbal medicine, traditional medicine, traditional therapies, sperm, testosterone, testicles and Iran were used to retrieve the relevant articles published in the journals indexed in the Information Sciences Institute, Science Direct, PubMed, Scopus, PubMed Central and Scientific Information Databases. We searched and used papers published between 2000 and 2020. Then, we analyzed the eligible papers. We collected and analyzed 35 papers from the databases. We selected only the articles about herbs that affect sperm and testosterone production.Results: Based on the results, herbs Apium graveolens, Cinnamomum camphora, Cornus mas, Satureja khuzestanica, Withania somnifera, Fumaria parviflora, zingiber officinale, cinnamomum zeylanicum and Phoenix dactylifera are used in the male reproductive system.Conclusions: Plants can probably be useful in increasing fertility due to their antioxidant power and low side effects.

Heavy metals are widely known through natural resources, natural resources such as soil, dust in the atmosphere, snow and rain. Soil contaminants, especially heavy metals, can be absorbed by plants and enter the food cycle. Heavy metal contamination causes environmental concerns, such as entering the food chain and contaminating food, which can be harmful to human health. Consumption of food contaminated with heavy metals can cause several disorders including genetic toxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, teratogenicity, neurotoxicity, endocrine disorders, immune problems and impaired psychosocial function. Bees also absorb heavy metals through the consumption of contaminated water, pollen, and nectar, inhalation of particles during flight, and adhesion of particles to their hairy body as they move on plant and soil surfaces while searching for food. For this review study, keywords such as heavy metals and honey were used. The databases searched in those articles were Google Scholar, SID, Scopus, PubMed, Science Direct, and ISI. The searched articles were reviewed. Given that honey is a valuable and widely consumed food in the diet of most people in different nations, so the study of the quality of honey in the consumer market in order to maintain the health of consumers seems necessary.

Kidney failure is an irreversible condition and an important cause of morbidity and mortality in children worldwide. In conventional medicine, the methods of controlling these disorders and the existing treatments in many cases seem inadequate and sometimes ineffective. Due to the growing popularity of society in the use of knowledge and traditional medicine and herbal medicine, the potential of Iranian ethnobotanical knowledge can be used to find more effective treatment strategies. The aim of this study was to extract medicinal plants used in Iranian ethnobotanical knowledge in order to identify medicinal plants affecting renal failure. In this review study, keywords such as renal failure, renal impairment, hypertension, diabetes, herbs, ethnobotanics, and Iran were used. Databases such as ISI, Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, ISC, SID and Google Scholar were used to review articles and resources. Finally, 23 articles containing ethnobotanical information for the treatment of renal failure were used to review the literature.
