Abstract: The prosodic quality of speech comprises intonation, accent pattern, and rhythm. Among others, these dimensions contribute to the linguistic structure of an utterance and subserve emotional behaviour. Both cortical and subcortical dysfunctions can give rise to impaired speech prosody.
