Prokinetic effects of LD02GIFRO on functional gastrointestinal disorder in rats

Abstract: Abstract. LD02GIFRO is a novel prokinetic agent formulated with Poncirus fructus and Zanthoxylum sp. fruits. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of LD02GIFRO on delayed gastrointestinal transit (GIT) and colorectal hypersensitivity. To investigate the effect of LD02GIFRO, a rat model of delayed GIT was induced via three mechanisms; postoperative ileus (POI), morphine, and POI plus morphine. Visceromotor responses (VMR) to colorectal distension (CRD) were also evaluated. POI was induced by l… Show more

“…Further, oral administration of LD02GIFRO (260 mg/kg), which is a mixture of PF (70% ethanol extract) and zanthoxylic fructus (30% ethanol extract), alleviates experimentally-induced delayed GI transit in rats (M. J. Choi et al, 2017). LD02GIFRO exerts its prokinetic effect due to zanthoxylic fructus, which is used as a traditional medicine to stimulate GI motility in eastern Asia (Shibata, Sasaki, Naito, Ueno, & Matsuno, 1999;Tokita, Yuzurihara, Sakaguchi, Satoh, & Kase, 2007).…”
