Abstract: RESUMO: O trauma é um problema de saúde pública de grandes proporções. É a principal causa de óbito na população jovem. Pesquisas mostram um grande número de pessoas morrendo de lesões que poderiam ser prevenidas. Estes óbitos evitáveis podem diminuir com melhorias na organização e planejamento dos serviços de trauma.
