Prognostics of automotive electronics with data driven approach: A review

Abstract: Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) is a comprehensive framework that can deal with solutions for predicting and maintaining electronic system's health. The emerging concept of PHM is increasingly considered for adoption in many engineering fields such as automotive, mechanical, electrical, industrial, aerospace and railway. PHM of electronic components and systems can offer competitive advantages by improving performance, reliability, safety, maintainability and availability. In this paper, a brief descri… Show more

“…They identified eight directions for the future of PHM based on integrating deep learning into it, including support for multi-component systems. [17,18,19] reviewed data-driven algorithms for PdM in automotive systems. More recently, [20] discussed the different probabilistic techniques used in PdM and noted that finding all possible states of long multivariate temporal data is computationally expensive.…”

“…The data driven approach can realize predictions for RUL through statistical and probabilistic methods [4]. Models built for prognostics are focused on building computation models that learn a specific or holistic behavior of the system based on empirical sensor data.…”

“…Implementing PHM on a system level at the design stage [3] as well as the qualification phase [1], can help solving most of the problems. PHM of electronic components and systems can offer competitive advantages as it improves performance, reliability, safety, maintainability and availability [4].…”

“…For instance, fast inductive charging technology, which provides quick energy transfer, necessitates a gap of about 10-20 cm and approximately constant vertical and horizontal misalignments. In addition, it can be said that, to achieve dynamic charging, it is necessary to use only a wireless system [10,11].…”

“…Another option for dynamic matching is to change the parameters of compensation elements [1,5,11,14,15]. Technically, it is appropriate to change the matching capacitor value in transmitting using electronic switches.…”
