“…Similar results have also been reported in other cancers (28,30) where male patients and patients with more advanced TNM stages were associated with a higher risk of cancer-specific mortality. Furthermore, tumor grade, which is also an inherent characteristic of tumors and has been shown in many previous studies (31,32) to be an independent prognostic factor in patients with GBC, was considered when the prognosis was evaluated in patients with GBC after surgery in the present study. The inclusion of the additional variables in the nomograms led to increased accuracy in survival prediction using nomograms compared with the 8th edition TNM staging system.…”

“…12 Our previous study showed that preoperative NLR and PLR were prognostic factors for gallbladder carcinoma. 13 And we also demonstrated the prognostic value of NLR for renal cell carcinoma, which was affected by hypertension. 14 Until most recently, the studies of the prognostic values of NLR and PLR in head and neck cancer or oral cancer have just emerged, however, are quite limited and conflicting.…”

“…Preoperative platelet lymphocyte ratio (PLR) has also been reported to predict for the survival of the patients with gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, ovarian cancer, and non‐small cell lung cancer . Our previous study showed that preoperative NLR and PLR were prognostic factors for gallbladder carcinoma . And we also demonstrated the prognostic value of NLR for renal cell carcinoma, which was affected by hypertension .…”
