“…The cut‐off values of NLR ranged from 1.77 to 6.0 in the included studies, of which 12 studies with cut‐off values of 5.0 and seven studies with 4.0 as displayed in Table . Our results statistically supported the conclusions that elevated pretreatment NLR has close association with the prognosis of liver cancer, which was consist with the conclusions in gastric cancer, lung cancer, and colorectal cancer . NLR had a close relationship with the OS, DFS, and RFS of liver cancer.…”

“…As a marker reflecting the balance between the host inflammatory response and immune response, a high NLR is also associated with a high infiltration of tumor‐associated macrophages and high inflammatory cytokine production in the tumor, such as interleukin‐6, interleukin‐8, and interleukin‐17, which promote systemic neutrophilia . Besides, NLR has also been demonstrated having association with the prognosis of colorectal cancer in some meta‐analyses and studies …”

“…There is compelling evidence for the adverse prognostic value of several easy and inexpensive blood-derived parameters reflecting SI, such as a high NLR, a low lymphocyte to monocyte ratio, and a high platelet to lymphocyte ratio, in a wide variety of cancers [28,29]. For lung cancer, evidence supports the prognostic value of NLR in advanced disease [18,19,20] and in early disease either treated with surgery or radiotherapy [30,31].…”

“…Systemic inflammation plays a key role in tumor development and progression . Inflammatory markers such as the circulating neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (PLR), lymphocyte‐to‐monocyte ratio (LMR), and C‐reactive protein level are used as predictive markers for various tumors . These inflammation markers are not only easy to acquire; they also have strong predictive value with oncologic patients .…”
