Prognostic factors in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Abstract: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is an aggressive type of lymphoma, potentially curable, with heterogeneous prognosis. The aim of this study was to determine prognostic significance of clinical, laboratory and immunohystochemical factors. The retrospective study was done in 50 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The following parameters were investigated: demographic (age, sex), clinical (time to diagnosis, B symptoms, clinical stage), laboratory (erythrocyte sedimentarion rate, haemoglobin, lactate dehy… Show more

“…Many studies showed that high IPI score is relevant with low survival rates (5,7,9). Similar to this, Uzurov-Dinic et al (10) found that patients with low and low-intermediate IPI scores had a better prognosis. Concordant with the literature, a statistically significant relationship was found between IPI score and prognosis in our study (p: 0.003).…”

“…The ratio of Ki67 (Ki67%) in tumor cells prior to and after chemotherapy is of significance in medication guidance, particularly for the selection of cell-cycle-specific chemotherapeutic drugs ( 14 ). At present, no definitive conclusion has been made as to whether Ki67% has sufficient accuracy in predicting the prognosis of patients with NHL ( 15 , 16 ). Therefore, further studies are required.…”
