“…By interfering with ENO1 , we observed that 12 metabolites from FGCs were significantly downregulated and one metabolite was significantly upregulated. Almost all of these metabolites were found to participate in the growth and development of FGCs, of which indole (Suzen, Cihaner, & Coban, ), vitamin D3 (Bakhshalizadeh et al, ), oleic acid (Sutton‐McDowall et al, ) and cholic acid (Sanchez‐Guijo, Blaschka, Hartmann, Wrenzycki, & Wudy, ) were important for shaping microenvironment development. This analysis of metabolites suggested that ENO1 may affect FGC microenvironment development by regulating the biosynthesis of fatty and unsaturated fatty acids, primary bile acids, phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan.…”

“…The decrease in these hormones would cause follicular dysplasia (Kaya et al, ; Sun et al, ). Therefore, the high cholic acid content is an important microenvironment for follicular and FGC development (Sanchez‐Guijo et al, ), while ENO1 promotes the secretion of cholic acid in FGCs, thereby promoting the synthesis of oestrogen and progesterone to shape the microenvironment for FGC development.…”

“…The sample preparation and the BA quantification followed the procedure outlined by Sanchez‐Guijo, Blaschka, et al (). Biological fluid (200 µl) was incubated after the addition of deuterated internal standards with gently shaking for 30 min at room temperature.…”

“…BAs are present in several body fluids like bile, blood and urine. Recently, BAs were also detected in follicular fluid (FF) of humans (Nagy et al, ; Smith et al, ) and cattle (Sanchez et al, ; Sanchez‐Guijo, Blaschka, Hartmann, Wrenzycki, & Wudy, ). Smith et al () determined the total BA concentration in human FF depending on an hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) treatment.…”
