“…[57] In 2022, we developed a robust and reusable catalyst via immobilizing Candida antarctica lipase B onto the surface of Fe3O4 decorated reduced graphene oxide (MrGO), employed the developed catalyst, i.e., CALB@MrGO to synthesize clinically significant quinazolinone derivatives (Scheme 28). [58] The model reaction utilized differently substituted aryl aldehydes (1.25 mmol) along with 2-aminobenzamide (1 mmol), catalyst (60 mg) in 5 ml of ethanol in a round bottom at 55°C and stirred the reaction mixture for 10 h (Scheme 28). Notably, the reaction proceeds efficiently to furnish the corresponding 2,3dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones in good to excellent yield with a range of electronically divergent aromatic aldehydes.…”

“…12 Previously, we have also reported a number of novel enzymatic transformations using lipase and α-amylase as a catalyst. 13,14 Recently, we reported the application of the α-amylase enzyme in the gram-scale synthesis of bis-indole containing bioactive molecules. 15 Keeping in view the diverse applications of 3,3′,3′′-trisindoles and limitations of the previously reported methods, herein, we report the highly selective and efficient synthesis of symmetrical and unsymmetrical 3,3′,3′′-trisindoles using the α-amylase enzyme catalysed Friedel–Crafts type reaction of isatin and indoles.…”

“…Nanobiocatalyst represent a novel technological advancement that combines advanced nanotechnology with biotechnology, resulting in synergistic integration ( Budhiraja et al, 2022 ; Villalba-Rodríguez et al, 2023 ; Ayub et al, 2023 ; Samaddar & Banerjee, 2023 ; Thirumavalavan, Settu & Lee, 2017 ). Enzymes are adaptable biocatalysts that practically all organisms use to control their metabolism and ensure their survival ( Dev, Srivastava & Karmakar, 2018 ).…”
