In this paper we analyze and identify the potential TV series for chemistry teaching, highlighting some obstacles and possibilities. For this, a survey was conducted of the series that have genre about science/chemistry and science fiction/chemistry, presenting the epistemological obstacles and the multi, pluri and interdisciplinary character present in some episodes. The results indicate that the obstacle first experience is the most evident in series. In addition, most episodes analyzed presents multidisciplinary character, by encompass issues that can be worked in the disciplines of chemistry and biology. It was established that the TV series presents a new form of possibility to contextualize the classes, since they are part of students' daily lives.
