Public participation in the protection of cultural heritage is essential for the further development of sustainable heritage conservation. However, more research is needed on public involvement in heritage protection and issues such as unclear management systems. This paper establishes indicators and a framework for public participation in the protection of cultural heritage, interpreting the connections between factors involved in heritage protection. Using the “Qiansheng Bridge”, one of the wooden arch corridor bridges in Fujian and Zhejiang, China, as a case study, this research builds a system for public participation in heritage protection. It predicts the extent of public involvement in protecting wooden arch corridor bridges in different scenarios. The results indicate that (1) improvements in “science education and publicity”, “management institutions”, “financial investment”, “laws and regulations”, and “business management” enhance the level of public participation in heritage protection; (2) currently, there is not enough room to improve the degree of participation in endogenous power; (3) relying solely on government and expert guidance, without considering other factors, cannot achieve sustainable development; (4) the greater the proportion of endogenous power, the higher the level of public participation in the early periods; the higher the proportion of exogenous power, the better the level of public participation in the middle and late stages.

<p dir="ltr"><span>Astana Gunungjati is a tomb complex for the descendants of the palaces in Cirebon. One of them is the tomb of Sunan Gunungjati, one of The Walisanga and also the King of the Cirebon Sultanate. The purpose of this research was to describe the phenomenon of intangible heritage cultural values from Jeneng-Bekel-Kemit in Astana Gunungjati. Jeneng-Bekel-Kemit is the term used for the caretaker of the tomb. The existence of a caretaker known as kuncen in the Astana Gunungjati room played an important role in the service of tomb pilgrimage tourists. Kuncen at Astana Gunungjati has a unique value system in his work, and values are part of a culture that is an intangible heritage. The research method used a qualitative descriptive method. The method of data collection was carried out by interviewing several kuncen who were met by using Snowball. Field observations were carried out to visually record the space and the activities of the kuncen. The analysis method was carried out using qualitative description. Data was collected and classified. Observations made to the linkage among groups of categories to form a concept. The results of the research show ethical, spiritual, cultural, and esoteric values. The findings can be documented as intangible text attached to the Astana Gunungjati space.</span></p>

This study aims to find a model of cultural heritage development with a collaborative approach between cultural heritage and storynomics of sustainable tourism in Heritage City. Tourism potential of Sumbawa City's cultural heritage as a cultural heritage of the past with historical value, tourist attraction, and conservation-based tourism destinations that impact improving local community's economy. The research uses a descriptive, explanatory approach to cultural heritage objects. Data collection is obtained from informants as primary data to explore information about Sumbawa. In addition, data was obtained from the distribution of questionnaires to assess the physical condition of buildings and tourism performance and past literature documentation of Sumbawa. The results of this study provide an overview of the historical tourism of Sumbawa City, which presents the authenticity of the past as a sustainable historical tourist attraction. The review was conducted with social interaction theory with an analysis of the relationship between past events, traces of the history, local community culture, and historical sources that are the tourist attractions.
