Problems of Ensuring Quality of a Surface Layer When Producing Components From Hard-to-Process Heat Resistant Alloys

Abstract: We consider the study results of the hard-to-process titanium-based alloys processing on turning lathes. The influence made on the quality of the surface layer, characterized by the amplitude roughness parameters, by geometry, cutting tool properties, processing modes and dimensional wear is considered. Keywords: aluminum alloys, superhard synthetic materials, synthetic diamond cutters, cubic boron nitride cutters IntroductionThe new materials producing, their improvement and application depend on the level of … Show more

“…To ensure the quality of manufacturing of parts from titanium alloys, it is necessary to use appropriate equipment, rational cutting conditions and cutting tool geometry [17], which allow obtaining the required dimensional accuracy and height parameters of surface roughness [18]. For this, it is necessary to develop a mathematical model of the formation of errors, which will allow simulating errors [19,20] and selecting rational cutting modes that ensure the accuracy of machining parts made of heat-resistant titanium alloys at the initial stage of the technological process.…”
