Abstract:Recent demand on welding fluxes for high-strength low-alloy steel grades has necessitated the development of CaF 2 -free fluxes towards high heat input applications. To meet such requirements, a flux design strategy has been postulated by varying MnO/(CaF 2 +MnO) mass ratio in the CaF 2 -SiO 2 -MnO flux system. The effect of MnO substitution for CaF 2 on the flux viscosity and structure has been investigated, and a quantitative relationship between viscosity and structural units has been put forward. In additi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
