Abstract:<p>
Probabilistic analysis of local buckling strengths (LBS) for compressive plates of normal and bridge high performance steels was conducted. The Monte Carlo simulation method as well as the response surface method was employed to obtain the statistical distribution of LBS. As sources of variability of LBS, the initial out-of-plane displacement and the residual stress are considered as the stochastic variables. The response surface methods are employed to approximate LBS by a simple polynomial function… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
