Proactive and reactive cognitive control rely on flexible use of the ventrolateral prefrontal cortex

Abstract: The role of ventral versus dorsolateral prefrontal regions in instantiating proactive and reactive cognitive control remains actively debated, with few studies parsing cue versus probe‐related activity.
