Pro‐inflammatory versus anti‐inflammatory cytokines in psoriatic patients (case–control study)

Abstract: Psoriasis is an autoimmune disorder mediated by T-lymphocytes with skin, nail, and joint involvement. PsO influences 2%-3% of general population. 1 Its main characteristic is the symmetrical distribution of well-defined, reddish plaques with adherent silvery-white scales covering patient's body. 2 Psoriasis is born of an interaction of innate and adaptive immunity together with genetic factors. 3 T-lymphocytes and pro-inflammatory cytokines have a major role in the pathogenetic process of psoriasis.
