Pro-Argin Technology Based Formulation of Eugenol Containing Toothpaste

Abstract: Introduction: Formation of cavities and hyper sensitivity are few dental problems, manifested by dental pain. Since long back, volatile oil present in clove buds (Myrtaceae) have been used as dental analgesic. Various toothpastes containing clove oil are marketed. Eugenol is chemically, terpenoids, active principle present in clove oil. It has several pharmacological potentials. Pro-argin technology is novel approach for formulation of toothpaste with arginine (8%) and calcium carbonate. Aim: This research was… Show more

“…To the best of our knowledge, there is no published work examining interaction between flavor molecules and calcium in hydrocolloid solutions. We only found a recent study on novel toothpaste formulations where no chemical reaction between eugenol and calcium carbonate was observed (Shete et al., 2020). Moreover, our data indicated no correlation between the AGT and physical properties of flavor molecules (e.g., solubility, boiling point, partition coefficient).…”
