Priority of Control Means of Preparedness Students With Different Levels of Swimming Skills in Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

According to traditional opinions, that confirmed over a long period of practical and scientific search, among the basic skills of students must be the mastering by system of motor and swimming skills. In order to objectify the effectiveness of the swimming teaching system for students of higher education institutions and to study the dynamics of individual preparedness indicators, we consider it appropriate to find ways to improve the control of this process. Purpose: to establish the priority of control means of preparedness in the swimming teaching system for students of higher education institutions with different levels of swimming skills. Methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodical data, analysis of documentary materials, expert survey, methods of mathematical statistics. The expert survey (May-August 2020) involved 18 specialists (average experience 18.6 years). Results. For the first time was considered the issue of differentiation control means for swimming preparedness of students during their education in the high education institutions within the implementation of the swimming teaching system. It was established the possibility of increasing the number of tests (control exercises) with improvement the level of students' swimming skills, while there are differences in the standardized part. At each of the students' swimming skills levels, the following priority means of control have been identified: I (cannot swim)-"swimming at 25m with aids"; II ("kept on the water")-"swimming (overcoming the distance) at 25m", "swimming at 25mwith aids", "swimming at 50m with aids"; III (swim with aids)-"swimming (overcoming the distance) at 25m", "swimming at 25m with aids", "swimming at 50m with aids"; IV (swim in one of the styles)-"swimming (overcoming the distance) at 50m", "swimming in one style", "swimming (overcoming the distance) at 25m"; at V (swim in different styles) and VI (have qualitatively swimming skills) levels-demonstration of swimming techniques in different styles "breaststroke", "freestyle", "backstroke", "butterfly".
