Poverty becomes major problem in Indonesia. Based on geographical condition, the poverty rate in Indonesia is dominated by the rural community. Zakat is an instrument which has function to reduce the poverty rate. Zakat can reduce poverty if managed properly. BAZNAS is an institution that has the authority to manage zakat in Indonesia. Serang regency is a regency in Indonesia which consists of 326 villages. Reducing the poverty rate in the village is very important because there are many villages in Serang Regency. To reduce poverty rate in the village, BAZNAS Regency Serang has been implementing the village development program. This research aims to analyze the Impact of zakat empowerment program on the village development program by BAZNAS Serang Regency. The program in 2016 and 2017 conducted in Sindangsari and Tamiang village. Therefore, the research is conducted in both villages. The zakat impact index is used to analyze the impact of zakat on the village. The result indicates that the impact of zakat empowerment program in Tamiang and Sindangsari Village is enaough. Based on this research can be concluded that the zakat empowerment program is enough to impact the mustahik's zakat on Tamiang and Sindangsari Village.

This study empirically explores the factors motivating Muzakki (zakat payers) to pay zakat at the Baitul Mal Aceh, Indonesia. The factors motivating Muzakki to pay zakat investigated in the study comprises culture, regulation, motivation, and Muzakki understanding on zakat. 600 questionnaires were disseminated to the respondents, which were selected based on the convenience sampling technique. Then, the data were analysed using a binary logistic regression. The results of this study showed that culture, regulation, motivation, and understanding of the Muzakki on zakat significantly and positively affected the decision of Muzakki to pay their zakat at the Baitul Mal Aceh. This study implies that in order Muzakki to pay their zakat at the Baitul Mal, Islamic cultures should be preserved among Achenese, government should enhance regulation pertaining zakat management and the people of Aceh need to be equipped with the relevant knowledge on the obligation of zakat payment. The research aims to analyze the potential of using blockchain to promote integrated financial inclusion through Indonesian potential zakat funds. We use a qualitative approach (the business model canvas) as the analysis tool. We generate the data using the literature study. The essence of the zakat funds management implies that zakat assets should not be left idle. Further, greater zakat funds collected, managed, and distributed will deliver more benefits to mauquf alayh, greater divine rewards to the wakif, and greater funds received by nazir. Our results indicate that the zakat blockchain programs offer various benefits because blockchain facilitates more decentralized and borderless transactions. The benefits include achieving targets more effectively; avoiding overlap; developing zakat more systematically; monitoring more effectively in planning, organizing, actuating, and evaluating nazhir zakat; and contributing to short, medium, and long-term national socioeconomic objectives. In sum, we conclude that more decentralized and borderless blockchain-facilitated transactions potentially enhance Indonesian zakat funds' potential collection and utilization.
