The world's pace has elevated technology to a higher pinnacle in the field of communication, yet the research in underwater communication is progressing in a slow traverse due to its compound barriers. Underwater communication is one of the unique and challenging fields in communication engineering in the case of both designing and communication. It is limited by several factors like the multipath channel and frequency which is limiting the application of underwater communication. An appropriate choice of modulation will enable the device to give better data rates. As every communication needs higher data rates, appropriate devices must be coupled with multiple access methods to make it efficient and reliable. The paper is a plot of the data surveyed on underwater communication which combines of major challenges associated with underwater applications and the approaches to mitigate some of these challenges is data.

Vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have been widely used in intelligent transportation system to provide safety and security alongwith reduction in traffic jam using vehicle‐to‐vehicle (V2V) and vehicle‐to‐roadside (V2R) unit communications. However, one of the major concerns in VANETs is to maintain the privacy and security of the sensitive information shared between vehicles and end‐users, as information leakage can influence any implemented solution in this environment. Keeping view on the above‐mentioned points, this paper provides a detailed survey on various types of attacks and possible solutions to handle these attacks. Using the proposed survey, a detailed taxonomy based upon the types of attacks and possible solutions to handle these attacks is proposed. Finally, various emerging open issues and challenges along with the security threats are identified and discussed in the paper. These open research issues motivate the communities to design new solutions to mitigate the existing new security threats in this area.

Abstract-The applications and utility of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) have increased its pace in making an entry to the commercial market since the last five years. It has successfully established its association with Internet-of-Things (IoT) and other reconfigurable networks. However, in this advent of exponential progress in technology, WSN still suffers from elementary problems of energy efficiency, scalability, delay, and latency where Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols hold the primary responsibility. This paper reviewed the frequently used MAC protocols and studied their advantages and limitations followed by most recently carried out implementation work towards WSN performance enhancement. The paper finally outlines the unsolved problems from the existing research work and discussed briefly the research gap followed by a chalked out plan of tentative future work to address the research gap from existing review.
