ОбоснованиеПервые случаи устойчивости микроорганизмов к анти-биотикам, описанные вскоре после открытия последних [1,2], легли в основу изучения основных причин после-дующей эры «эпидемии антибиотикоустойчивости». В на-стоящее время признаются две основные биологические причины феномена устойчивости к антибиотикам -анти-биотикорезистентность (АР) и антибиотикотолерантность (АТ) [3−5]. Если АР основана на распространении генов устойчивости среди «своих» бактерий, то АТ обуслов-лена иными механизмами фенотипических изменений штаммов на уровне генной экспрессии, проявляющихся прекращением пролиферации и замедлением уровня ме-таболизма бактерий [6−8]. В отличие от более изученного феномена -АР, антибиотикотолерантность обеспечи-вает ускользание нереплицирующихся и метаболически инертных микроорганизмов (персистеров) от воздей-ствия любых антибиотиков вследствие отсутствия биоло-гических мишеней воздействия последних [9−11].АТ несет потенциал сохранения персистирующих ин-фекций, которые могут длительное время быть бессим-птомными.
