Background. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with an increased rate of infection, which was partly explained by a decreased T cell-mediated response, and although being controversial, impaired function of neutrophil associated with diabetes is also documented. The purpose was to determine awareness of type 2 Diabetic patients about immunization against hepatitis-B, influenza, tetanus and zona, to find out the source of current vaccine information. Materials and methods. The study was planned as a single centred, prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical trial. The questionnaire form was applied to patients diagnosed with type 2 DM, who applied to Diabetics Outpatient Clinic by face-to-face interview technique. Results. A total of 439 patients was evaluated; the diagnosis time of 38.5, 19, 24 and 18 % of the patients was determined as 0–5 years, 6–10 years, 11–15 years and more than 16 years, respectively. Organ damage was detected in 76 of the patients, and as the most common complication, retinopathy was found to be in 57 (13.01 %) patients. Among the patients, 175 (39.86 %) of them had coexisting hypertension, and 164 (37.36 %) of them had coexisting hyperlipidaemia. Whereas 153 (35.75 %) were aware of pneumococcal vaccine, the number of patients who got vaccinated was 55 (12.53 %). Whereas 336 (76.54 %) were aware of influenza vaccine, 108 (24.60 %) of them got vaccinated. Among the patients, 179 (40.77 %) heard of hepatitis B vaccine, but 34 (7.74 %) got vaccinated. It was determined that, 279 people heard od tetanus vaccine, 183 people were administered at least one dose of vaccine, however the last vaccine of 101 (55.49 %) of those who had tetanus vaccine, was more than 11 years ago. Only 3 out of 33 (7.52 %), who knew about the zona vaccine, got vaccinated. In that study, 243 (55.35 %) people got vaccinated in adulthood for any reason. There was no significant relationship between education level and duration of disease and vaccination. Conclusions. Adult immunization rates of diabetic patients were found to be in low levels. The primary care professionals play an essential role in the immunization of diabetic patients.

Objectives: Vaccinations are accepted as being one of the most effective methods for protecting health and preventing illness. The purpose of this study is to assess the vaccination coverage of the adults aged 18 and older, who have made an application to the Family Medicine polyclinics in Antalya, Turkey, as well as their knowledge and desire to obtain knowledge concerning vaccinations. Materials and Methods:This cross-sectional and descriptive study has been conducted by way of faceto-face questioning. The statistical analyses have been performed using SPSS ver. 22.0. The sample size has been calculated as 400, with the "OpenEpi.Version 3 Open Source Calculator". The Chi-Square, Kruksal-Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis were used.Results: A total of 445 people participated in the study. Vaccination coverage for the participants was 10.8 for influenza on a regularly every year, 24,3% for tetanus and diphtheria (Td) on regularly every ten years, 30.3% for hepatitis B, 6.0% for pneumococcal vaccine. The most frequent reason cited for not getting vaccinations was a lack of knowledge. About 65% of the participants stated that they wished to be informed about adult vaccinations by their family practitioners. Conclusion:Vaccinations are the cornerstone of being protected against infectious diseases. In our region adults do not have sufficient information concerning the vaccinations which are necessary during adulthood, and their vaccination coverage are lower than the desired targets.

İnfektif endokardit genellikle gram pozitif koklara bağlı gelişir,kan akımına doğrudan maruz kalan kalp içi yabancı cisimleri içeren kardiyovasküler yapıların endovasküler mikrobik infeksiyonudur. İnfektif endokarditte hemşirelik bakımı belirtilere, tedaviye, komplikasyonlara, hasta ve ailesinin hastalık hakkındaki eğitimine odaklıdır. E.A, titreme, yüksek ateş, halsizlik kilo kaybı şikayetleriyle acile başvurmuştur. İnfektif endokardit ön tanısıyla kliniğe yatırılmıştır. E.A, 27 Kasım-11 Aralık 2014 arasında Gordon'un Fonksiyonel Sağlık Örüntüleri Hemşirelik Bakım Modeli doğrultusunda değerlendirilerek, "Etkisiz bireysel sağlık yönetimi, düşme risk, infeksiyon, dengesiz beslenme: beden gereksiniminden az beslenme, deri bütünlüğünde bozulma, kanama, elektrolit dengesinde bozulma, idrar boşaltımında bozulma, aktivite intoleransı gibi'' hemşirelik tanıları belirlendi. Infective endocarditis is usually due to gram positive develops from coke. Directly exposed to the blood flow, cardiovascular structures containing foreign bodies inside the heart develops as a result of endovascular microbial infection. The nursing care at Infective endocarditis is focused on education about the disease of the patient and family, symptoms, treatment, complications. This case with chills, high fever, malaise and weight loss, was admitted to the emergency. Patient were hospitalized with the diagnosis of infective endocarditis. Patients were assessed by Nursing Care Model of Gordon's Functional Health Patterns, between November 27 and December11, 2014. Ineffective individual health maintenance, the risk of falling, infection, imbalanced nutrition: less than body requirements, impaired in the skin integrity, bleeding, electrolyte imbalance, impaired in the urinary excretion, activity intolerance etc." nursing diagnosis were determined, to improve and/or to eliminate the detected problems was given nursing care to patient and the results were evaluated.
