Preventing colorectal cancer in Sri Lanka: step forward

Abstract: Though considered as a disease in the West, the incidence of colorectal cancer in Sri Lanka has increased markedly in recent years. The latest data (2014) indicate that colorectal cancer is ranked as the fourth common cancer among men (ASR of 6.9/ 100,000 population) and the fifth among women (ASR of 6.9/ 100,000 population) (3).
