Prevención del cáncer gástrico y erradicación de Helicobacter pylori

Abstract

El Adenocarcinoma gástrico sigue siendo una de las malignidades más comunes a nivel mundial. Para el momento del diagnóstico, más del 80 por ciento de los pacientes se encuentra ya en estadíos avanzados de la enfermedad, lo cual disminuye la supervivencia y podría imposibilitar el manejo curativo. Su principal causante es la bacteria Helicobacter pylori. En este artículo se revisan sus principales factores de riesgo, la clínica más importante, la importancia de la endoscopía en el diagnóstico y el tratamiento erradicador de dicha bacteria.
