The varied prevalence of overweight among different countries, including 24% in the United States (Neumark-Sztainer & Hannan, 2000), 16.8% in India (Ramachandran et al, 2002), 38% and 11% for overweight and obese, respectively, in Kuwait, places Lebanon among countries with low overweight (Al-Isa, 1999).
