“…In our study, it was found that diet diversity is a protective factor for IDA. Jalambo et al have reported that lack of knowledge on healthy eating and lack of motivation to eat a healthy diet were the main barriers to healthy eating among adolescents, leading to inadequate Fe, Ca, vitamin A, folic acid intake [34]. In our study, it was found that anemia decreased when the consumption of iron and vitamin-rich foods such as eggs, vegetables, cereals, dairy products, and fruits increased.…”

“…Both the effect of anemia on reducing the physical capacity and weakness, as well as the relationship between obesity and anemia in our study complicated the relationship between physical activity and anemia. Three different studies in the literature have been reported that there was no significant correlation between physical activity and ID compared with non-iron deficient participants [32][33][34]. The relationship between anemia and physical activity has not been adequately clarified.…”

“…11,23,28 However, pallor/fatigability was the most recognized symptom in an Omani study, 15 with 55.1% recognizing the symptom compared with 40.4% in Gaza. This difference could be caused by the comparably high prevalence of anemia in Gaza, with rates of 60.3% in patients with heart disease, 29 35.8% among female adolescents, 30 and 33.1% among pregnant women, 31 indicating that anemia is not normally recognized as a CRC sign. 32…”

“…The FFQ was modified from the Diet History Questionnaire I of the US National Cancer Institute and was validated for use in the Palestinian setting. 18 Participants were asked about their food intake before burn injury. A 1-year period was chosen for the data collected by the FFQ so that seasonal variations of fruits and vegetables would be available, although most participants indicated a constant dietary pattern during the last 5 years.…”
