“…Nanoscale selenium has attracted the attention of scientists due to its bioavailability and lower toxicity compared to the other forms of selenium [269]. Gao et al studied the antioxidant properties of SeNPs and demonstrated the reduced risk of selenium toxicity [187]. Moreover, SeNPs can be used as an antioxidant in food additives due to their lower risk of toxicity.…”

“…In brief, MDCK cells were treated with SeNPs for 48 h, and then lysed in cell lysis buffer for 1 h. After centrifugation, 50 μL of cell lysate was mixed with 50 μL of reaction buffer, and then added to the 96-well plate. Then, 5 μL of the caspase substrate was added into each well and the plate was incubated at 37℃ in the dark for 1 h. The absorbance values were measured at 380 nm (excitation) and 460 nm (emission) and caspase activity was expressed as fold change compared to the control group [29]. Then we will use TUNEL apoptosis detection kit was used to detect DNA fragmentation with uorescence staining.…”

“…Infrared spectral analysis: The IR spectrum of the POPs-I is shown in Figure 3. The broad bands at 3440.1 cm −1 were assigned to the ν(O-H) stretching vibrations of hydrogen-bonded and free hydroxyl groups [28], and the signal at 2921.7 cm −1 was attributed to ν(C-H) stretching of CH 2 groups [14,29], at 1631.8 cm −1 corresponded to the absorption of the carboxylate anions was (O=C-O) of nonesterified groups in pectins [28], and near the signal at 1378.8 cm −1 was COO− symmetric stretching vibration.…”

“…The peak at 1262.7 cm −1 was ν(C-O), and the absorption bands analysis of the spectrum in the 1092.6 cm −1 , 1026.3 cm −1 regions showed specific bands typical for a pyranose ring vibration [28,29]. The peak at 868.7 cm −1 indicated the presence of β-glycosidic linkage in the molecular structure of the polysaccharides [14,28].…”
