“…28,31,32 As for the Ni 3 B 2 O 6 sample, the diffraction peaks located at 2 θ = 22.6°, 25.9°, 28.0°, 33.1°, 33.8°, 38.9°, and 39.9° are attributed to Ni 3 B 2 O 6 (JCPDS# 22-0745) crystals. 33 No obvious diffraction peaks of B 2 O 3 , Co 3 O 2 or NiO were detected over the two catalysts. By further analyzing the XRD patterns of the CoB 4 O 7 and Ni 3 B 2 O 6 samples using the Rietveld method with GSAS fitting software 34 and the crystal model file from the Crystallography Open Database, we obtained the fitting results for CoB 4 O 7 : Rwp = 6.3%, Rp = 4.8%, χ 2 = 1.6 and for Ni 3 B 2 O 6 : Rwp = 8.1%, Rp = 6.1%, χ 2 = 3.9 (see Fig.…”

“…[57][58][59] Accordingly, various transition metal borates (Ni 3 B 2 O 6 , Co 3 B 2 O 6 , and Cu 3 B 2 O 6 ) were proposed and demonstrated as promising electrode materials for application in LIBs. [60][61][62][63][64] But chemical reactions may occur when these solidelectrolyte materials are placed in contact with lithium or sodium as there is a thermodynamic driving force for mixing of the composition of the solid electrolytes and the electrode, which generates new stable phases at the interface. For example, Li 3 PS 4 reacts with Li producing Li 4 P 2 S 6 , which further undergoes reduction to Li 3 P. This is a redox decomposition, wherein P(V) is reduced to P(IV) and then to P 3À .…”

“…Among many polyanion-type inorganic compounds, borate anode materials have been studied for LIBs because of their lightweight and environmental friendliness [21]. To date, various borate materials such as Co 2 B 2 O 5 [22], Ni 3 (BO 3 ) 2 [23], Fe 3 BO 6 [24], FeBO 3 [25], VBO 3 [26] and LiZnBO 3 [27] have been reported as anode materials for rechargeable LIBs. Similarly, there have been some reports on the using of borate anode materials for SIBs in recent years.…”
