Preparation of nanocrystalline praseodymium oxide with different shapes via a simple thermal decomposition route

Abstract: Present report describes the surfactant-free synthesis and characterization of nanocrystalline praseodymium oxide. For this purpose, praseodymium source ([PrL(NO 3 ) 2 ]NO 3 (L = (N,N 0 -bis(2 0 -hydroxyacetophenonimine)-o-dipropylene triamin) was prepared and its thermal decomposition was performed in at various temperatures in the 300-800°C. Results of this investigation demonstrate that praseodymium oxide with very uniform sphere-like shape, small grain size and pure cubic phase could be synthesized by the… Show more

“……There has been increasing interest in the preparation of nanostructures in recent years owing to their considerable features as well as excellent usages in different fields [1][2][3][4][5]. To date, several technologies including precipitation, salt-assisted combustion, ultrasound irradiation, solid-state reaction, thermal decomposition and hydrothermal way have been explored to produce nanostructures [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14] prepared several sorts of nanosized structures and studied their effects on the various usages [15][16][17][18][19]. Herein, we prepared silver zinc tetraiodide/silver iodide (Ag 2 ZnI 4 /AgI) nanocomposites and evaluated their photocatalytic behavior.…”
