“…As shown in Figure S10, the results elucidated unambiguously that there was no significant reduction of WCAs and WSAs after 24 h, representing excellent UV resistance. We could attribute such UV-resistant behavior to the introduction of RB-CDs, which contained abundant benzene rings, carbonyl, double bonds, and other conjugated structures beneficial to absorb UV radiation. , …”

“…We could attribute such UV-resistant behavior to the introduction of RB-CDs, which contained abundant benzene rings, carbonyl, double bonds, and other conjugated structures beneficial to absorb UV radiation. 63,64 To further evaluate the robustness of PDMS/RB-CDs/ZIF-8@OMMT in a comprehensive way, a thermostability test was conducted by heating for 2 h in an oven in the temperature range of room temperature to 200 °C. As shown in Figure S11, no significant decrease of WCAs could be observed when the temperature reached 200 °C, while a slight increase (0.6°) of WSAs occurred.…”

“…This was because lignin contained some functional groups such as benzene ring, carbonyl, double bond, and other conjugated structures, which were able to absorb certain UV rays [ 40 ]. The CNC@SiO 2 @PL@PDMS coating could endure 8 h before losing superhydrophobicity because PDMS also possessed a UV resistance effect [ 41 ], showing ultra-strong UV resistance ( Figure 6 d–f). It could be seen in Table 3 , the CNC@SiO 2 @PL@PDMS coating showed better UV resistance than some similar work.…”

“…Yang et al firstly spray-coated an epoxy resin/acetone solution onto 1-Tetradecanol (TD)-decorated delignified wood (DW) substrate, and then further deposited SiO2 to obtain the superhydrophobic TD/DW composite (Figure 3e) [147]. Xue et al spray-coated a SiO2@HDTMS superhydrophobic spray solution of SiO2, an inorganic aluminum phosphate (AP) adhesive layer and Of course, the spray-coating method can be utilized by combining with other preparation methods to fabricate SHWSs, such as UV polymerization [75], chemical vapor deposition (CVD) [76,77,151], plasma [152] and immersion [153]. Spray-coating, as a widely used approach, is not limited by surface structures or the shapes of substrates, which is suitable for various substrates (i.e., wood, glass, metals, ceramics and papers).…”
