“…Additionally, extended exposure to light can decrease the photostability of organic agents. 17 On the other hand, inorganic agents offer better photochromism and photostability since they do not undergo steric effects. Strontium aluminate has superior reversibility compared with other phosphors due to its outstanding photostability.…”

“…Immobilization of organic agents into a material limits the photochromic performance of such organic pigments due to steric hindrance generating from the structural switching that occurs in reaction to light. Additionally, extended exposure to light can decrease the photostability of organic agents 17 . On the other hand, inorganic agents offer better photochromism and photostability since they do not undergo steric effects.…”

“…[ 2b,3e ] The most commonly used method is to disperse SO into particular solid matrixes. [ 17,18 ] This is an efficient method to inhibit the intermolecular π–π stacking of SO and thus provide enough volume for photochemical reaction, but it still has some drawbacks, such as complicated manufacture procedures, limited addition amounts, uneven addition, poor stability, and the leakage of photochromic molecules from the solid matrix. Solid‐state photochromism of SO can also be moderately achieved at a very low temperature such as ‐183 °C, [ 19 ] upon irradiation with highly intense laser light [ 20 ] or prolonged UV irradiation for up to 20–30 min.…”

“…[19][20][21] Moreover, polyurethane is a kind of materials easy to be synthesized with adjustable structures, and fluorescent groups can be directly introduced into the backbone of polyurethane via the chain expansion process, which is expected to expand functional anti-counterfeiting materials based on the original industrial applications and provide photochromic properties. [22][23][24][25] Besides, polyurethane material contains hydrogen bonds within the polymer, resulting in good adhesion to most materials such as metal and glass, which is beneficial for used as coating.…”
