Preparation and Characterization of Some Isoelectronic Boron-Nitrogen Analogs of Substituted Uracil [1]

Abstract: Several 1,3,5-triaza-2-boracyclohexa-4,6-diones, which are isoelectronic analogs of substituted uracil, have been prepared by condensation reactions of boranes with biurets. They include species containing a NH or BH unit as potentially reactive sites. The latter are extremely sensitive to hydrolysis but are readily handled as the 2-methylaminoethanol derivative containing fourcoordinate boron.

“…Since the compound 7b was only a byproduct, no additional study was undertaken to confirm its structure or the characterization of its decomposition products. Compound 11 (Scheme III) was synthesized in 91% yield from l,2:5,6-di-0-isopropylidene-D-glucose (10) (Scheme III) by analogy with 7a and 7b.…”

“…Es sind cyclische Biuret-Verbindungen von Bor [9][10][11][12], Silicium [10], Arsen [13] und Nickel [14] bekannt. Diese Verbindungen wurden nicht immer durch Umsetzungen von Biuret-Verbindungen, sondern auch aus Harnstoffen erhalten.…”
