Preparation and Characterization of Lead Oxide Nanoparticles by Laser Ablation as Antibacterial Agent

Abstract: In the early 90s military operations and United Nations Special Commission "UNSCOM" teams have been destroyed the past Iraqi chemical program. Both operations led an extensive number of scattered remnants of contaminated areas. The quantities of hazardous materials, incomplete destructed materials, and toxic chemicals were sealed in two bunkers. Deficiency of appropriate destruction technology led to spreading the contamination around the storage site. This paper aims to introduce the environmental detection o… Show more

“…The absorption band at 1044 is assigned for vibration mode of v O−C−C−O functional group (C−O stretching 1000–1100 cm −1 region) of solvent ethylene glycol as fingerprint region while band within 740–990 cm −1 range are assigned to Bi−O vibration mode frequency. The band at 1553 cm −1 indicated C=O stretching [27] . Finding of UV–visible and FTIR results are given in Table 2.…”

“…The FTIR spectra of PS/PbO composite illustrated in Figure 3 revealed the characteristic peak of the PbO band at 468 cm -1 referred to Pb-O stretching vibration, however the asymmetric bending vibration of the Pb-O-Pb bond at 686 cm -1 was overlapped and masked by the characteristic peak of PS at 694 cm -1 [40][41]. As illustrated in Figures 3 (a-c), the intensity of the PbO characteristic peak at 468 cm -1 increased with increasing PbO filler load from 10 to 35 wt% for all composites with various filler types.…”

“…A strong peak at 1393 cm -1 corresponds to the Pb-O stretching, and another peak at 682.9 cm -1 indicates the presence of lead [25]. The transmission peak at 460 cm -1 indicates the presence of (Pb-O) stretching vibration mode [26,27]. The peak around 833 cm -1 is due to the Pb-O vibrations, and the peak around 700 cm -1 is related to the asymmetric bending vibration of Pb-O-Pb [28] [29].…”
