Preliminary Study on Effect of Chemical Composition Alteration on Elastic Recovery and Stress Recovery of Nitrile Gloves

Abstract: Abstract. Nitrile gloves are widely used in the medical and automobile field due to its superiority in hypo-allergic component and chemical resistance over natural latex gloves. However, poor elastic recovery of nitrile glove to compressive force also creates an aesthetic issue for customers with high levels of wrinkling after removing from glove box. This paper demonstrates the preliminary study on the varies chemical composition such as crosslinking agents, sulphur and zinc oxide, the accelerator agent added… Show more

“…However, all the tested samples follow the standard requirement by ASTM D6319, in which the minimum tensile strength is 14 MPa and elongation at break is 500%. 10 The interaction between rubber matrix and the ESD 086A filler is known as rubber-filler interactions. The relationship between filler content and reinforcement in filled rubbers generally follows a rule whereby as filler content increases, tensile strength gradually rises to a peak value at the optimize filler loading and subsequently declines because of the production of substantial filler aggregates.…”

“…3A), which are more resistant to chemicals, solvents, oils, and fats, have better mechanical properties, and less elastic nature compared to the latex ones. Generally, increasing the nitrile content increases the chemical resistance, but reduces flexibility [13]. The nitrile gloves are the most expensive of other kinds of gloves and this is the only disadvantage of them.…”
