Predictors of quality of life in patients with colorectal cancer in Iran

Abstract: There are nine socio-demographic and clinical factors that are significant predictors of QOL in patients with CRC which should be considered in treatment and care of patients. The findings of this study should be the target of future research, emphasizing the need for interventional studies that minimize the adverse impact of the disease symptoms on the QOL in patients with CRC.

“…Functional status (FS) is a concept that is important in caring for cancer patients and is used to assess the effect of cancer on self‐care and daily activities. Considered a component of global health‐related quality of life (HRQOL) (Petrick et al, 2014), poor FS scores may lead to loss of autonomy and impairment in the quality of life of cancer patients (Ghanbari et al, 2011). The concept of functional status can be defined as the level of activities performed by an individual to realise needs of daily living in many aspects of life including physical, psychological, social, spiritual and intellectual roles.…”
