Predictive Data Mining Models for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infected Patients’ Recovery

Abstract: Novel coronavirus (COVID-19 or 2019-nCoV) pandemic has neither clinically proven vaccine nor drugs; however, its patients are recovering with the aid of antibiotic medications, anti-viral drugs, and chloroquine as well as vitamin C supplementation. It is now evident that the world needs a speedy and quicker solution to contain and tackle the further spread of COVID-19 across the world with the aid of non-clinical approaches such as data mining approaches, augmented intelligence and other artificial intelligenc… Show more

“…Machine learning (ML) is one of the sub-branches of artificial intelligence (AI) that deals with the ways in which machines learn from experience [1][2][3]. However, some of the computer scientists are of the opinion that the terms AI and ML are identical because of the possibility of learning from experience which is the main feature of the entity called intelligent system [4][5][6].…”

“…Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many efforts have been explored to develop a system for the diagnosis of COVID-19 using artificial intelligence techniques such as machine learning [12], deep learning [13]. In this section, a detailed description is provided about the recently developed systems to diagnose COVID-19 cases.…”

“…There are several types of diseases such as heart disease [3], breast cancer [4,5], liver disorder [6], diabetes [7] available in medical science that causes a lot of problems in human health but the current pandemic is COVID-19 [8,9]. The major symptoms for COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, breathing difficulties, and dry cough [10].…”
