Predicting the next oil change for automotive engine oil

Abstract: The main purpose of the engine lubrication system is to supply lubricating oil to all moving parts in the engines to reduce friction rates. The failure of this can cause damage to the engine system. The aim for this project is to develop a user-friendly device to predict as accurately as possible the next oil change for an automobile. The device consisted of four main parts, the electronic part, the heating element, the main body and the cover. A 12V DC motor is used to measure the current as the shaft connect… Show more

“…This monitoring also includes polymerized degradation products, soot, and wear particles with probable cause (Dörr et Glass-based thick lm sensors working on samples that were degraded arti cially show decisively that they can be worked under high temperature up to 120°C and the sensor response time can be reduced greatly because of the metal particles that are in the oil (Yang et al, 2019).Quartz tuning forks and extensional micro resonators are used to demonstrate the measurements for viscosity and density (Toledo et al, 2014). Higher order model analysis is advantageous in the viscosity and density calculation from measured resonance parameters(Voglhuber-Brunnmaier and Jakoby, 2020).A shear horizontal surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) sensor can trace the electric and mechanical properties of the engine oil (Kobayashi and Kondoh, 2020).KV 0 measurement by rotary viscometer shows that temperature has similar nonlinear characteristics for both used and unused oils (Landowski and Baran, 2019).Published literature includes a study conducted on a few civilian vehicles under typical urban tra c conditions (Wei et al, 2021) (Ibrahim et al, 2019).…”

“…Published literature includes a study conducted on a few civilian vehicles under typical urban traffic conditions. 41,42 The majority of prior research has used either ‘laboratory deteriorating engine oil’ from a restricted sample number or the same vehicle engine oil during a set time of testing. According to a survey of the literature, no previous research has investigated an integrated sensors strategy for quantifying engine oil quality deterioration using the subsequent sensors.…”
