“…Most criterion validation studies in the area of medical selection have focused on the North American Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). In general, the results of Kyei-Blankson, 2 Brooks et al, 3 Carline et al, 4 McGuire, 5 Hynes and Givner 6 and Cullen et al 7 suggest that correlations between MCAT scores and academic results vary between 0.1 and 0.5, with an average of around 0.3. This general finding is supported by the meta-analysis of Donnon et al, who found that: 'The predictive validity of the MCAT ranges from small to medium for both medical school performance and medical board licensing exam measures.'…”
