Precision Farming for Small Agricultural Farm: Indian Scenario

Abstract: Aims: Precision farming becomes more and more an accepted way of crop production and helps to achieve a sustainable environmental friendly agriculture. Furthermore, growing interest in automated data acquisition and information processing is going to form another milestone towards improved farm management and an overall trace ability in agricultural food production. The benefit and effectiveness of using precision farming techniques is highly dependent on the capabilities of the utilized technology. Study Desi… Show more

“…Overall issues. An increasing number of studies provide overviews of relevant aspects of precision agriculture in developing countries in Asia, showing the growing readiness and interests in various precision agriculture technologies in these countries, including Bangladesh (Das and Gope 2014), China (Sun and Li 2015), Pakistan (Mahmood et al 2013), and India and other countries (Mondal and Basu 2009;Mondal et al 2011;Mandal and Maity 2013;Dixit et al 2014;Sharma et al 2016;Kushwaha Raghuveer 2017).…”

“…Also, there are automated irrigation and fire alert system based on Hargreaves equation using weather forecast and ZigBee Protocol along with GSM protocol [10]. The challenge of energy availability and the price is still one of the greatest challenges in farm areas, so design a WSN using low cost and low energy efficient framework, using Eco-friendly and energy efficient Sensor technology for precision agriculture irrigation is required to achieve sustainability ( [11], [12]). …”

“…Also, the PA is considered as a science and art of applying advanced technologies in order to increase crop production, while minimizing potential environmental pollution (Karcik and Tasan, 2018). The PA, as a systemic approach to regenerate the overall agricultural system, was conceptualized to create sustainable low-input and highperformance agriculture (Mandal and Maity, 2013;Schaefer and Thinh, 2019). Due to the importance and benefits of the PA, so far research have been done on the feasibility of the application of the PA in different countries and challenges incoming for the application of these technologies.…”
