Prazer e sofrimento docente em uma instituição de ensino superior privada em Minas Gerais

Abstract

ResumoO artigo analisa a percepção de docentes de uma Instituição de Ensino Superior privada de Belo Horizonte sobre a vivência de prazer e sofrimento no trabalho, utilizando-se como método o estudo de caso de caráter quantitativo e qualitativo. Os dados quantitativos indicaram que a maioria dos resultados variou de "críticos" a "graves". Realização profissional foi o fator de prazer no trabalho mais relevante. Esgotamento profissional destacou-se como o fator de sofrimento no trabalho mais crítico. O estudo mostrou associações positivas entre: a) sofrimento no trabalho (falta de reconhecimento e esgotamento profissional) e faixa etária e tempo no magistério; e b) sofrimento no trabalho (esgotamento profissional) e relações socioprofissionais (gestão do trabalho, comunicação e interação profissional). Os dados qualitativos revelaram que elementos de precarização no trabalho foram considerados como deflagradores de sofrimento no trabalho, principalmente aqueles relacionados à autonomia, a novas formas de avaliação do ensino superior e ao relacionamento interpessoal. Instituição de Ensino Superior.Abstract T his study examines the perception of teachers from a higher education private institution in Belo Horizonte on the experience of pleasure and suffering at work, using a quantitative and qualitative case study. The quantitative data obtained indicated that most of the results ranged from critical to serious. The professional accomplishment was the most relevant pleasure in the work, while burnout was selected as the most critical factor of suffering at work. The study showed positive associations between: a) suffering at work (lack of recognition and burnout) with age and time in teaching, b) suffering at work (burnout) with socio-professional relations (work management, communication and professional interaction). The qualitative data revealed that precarization elements at work were considered as triggers of suffering at work, especially those related to autonomy, the assessment's new forms in higher education and peer relationships.
