Práticas utilizadas pelas puérperas nos problemas mamários

Abstract

This is a qualitative study, of Convergent-assistential type, with the objective of knowing the women's practices at post-birth for the resolution of nipple problems, at home, and intervene to its resolution. Fourteen women at post-birth who were in the breastfeeding period and attended at a Center of Integral Attention to Health were participants. It was used a semi-structured interview, participant observation and notes in field diary, analised according to Trentini and Paim's proposal. The themes were the following: Practices used by the women with nipple problems; their repercussion and breastfeed ending and promotion of feeding. The diversification of products used by women at post-birth, the necessity of health professionals to know the practices used in the communities and be used in relation to breastfeeding, to its promotion, were the findings.

“…Os profissionais de saúde carecem de capacitação técnica de modo permanente, uma vez que a maioria, após sua graduação muitas vezes não volta a se atualizar (13) . Desta forma, os profissionais que estiverem preparados, atualizados e bem informados terão melhores condições de exercer o seu papel de multiplicadores da prática da amamentação a fim de promover o seu sucesso.…”

“…Por isso, ressalta-se que para a manutenção do aleitamento materno, é importante que o serviço de referência seja de fácil acesso e resolva com disponibilidade os problemas relacionados à amamentação (15) . Salienta-se o exposto, pois "um grande número de crianças são desmamadas por causas perfeitamente possíveis de serem resolvidas com um programa educativo de assistência" (13) . Esta afirmação ratifica a importância do profissional em orientar e educar as gestantes sobre o aleitamento materno de forma efetiva, pois à medida que elas são orientadas e encorajadas com informações claras e esclarecedoras, elas criam confiança acerca do seu potencial para amamentar fazendo com que dificuldades futuras sejam minimizadas e/ou evitadas.…”
