“…In this study, we evaluated the diagnostic performance of MIP reformations of B-CT images as a stand-alone method for the detection and characterization of breast lesions in women with different breast density categories. Although the BI-RADS lexicon has been developed to provide a standardized lexicon for mammography report, a previous study has shown that high performance and good agreement among the readers can be achieved, when the same lexicon is applied for reporting and assessing breast lesions in B-CT. 23 In our study, sensitivity for finding a malignant lesion was 88.9% for both readers and specificity for finding a malignant lesion was 99.3% for reader 1 and 100% for reader 2. Only one malignant lesion was missed by both readers; this lesion was not clearly visible also in the standard B-CT examination but only detected in ultrasound because of the dense breast tissue.…”
