Post Keynesian Perspectives and Complex Ecologic-Economic Dynamics

Abstract: This paper considers the implications of complex ecologic-economic dynamics for three broad, Post Keynesian perspectives: the uncertainty perspective, the macrodynamics perspective and the Sraffian perspective. Catastrophic, chaotic and other complex dynamics will be seen as reinforcing the conceptual foundations of Keynesian uncertainty. Predator-prey models will be seen as deeply linked to Post Keynesian macrodynamic models. Finally, certain cases in ecologic-economic systems will be seen as generating such … Show more

“…It implies that SD is an effort at guaranteeing a balance among economic growth, environmental integrity and social well-being. This reinforces the argument that, implicit in the concept of SD is intergenerational equity, which recognizes both short and the long-term implications of sustainability and SD (Rosser, 2010). This is achievable through the integration of economic, environmental, and social concerns in decision-making processes.…”

“…Outlined in a series of papers (Schelling, 1969, 1971a, 1971b) and further elaborated in Schelling (2006), Schelling’s theory provided the foundation for large research in economics (Benito‐Ostolaza et al, 2015; Lee, 2004; Rosser, 2011; Sethi & Somanathan, 2004), sociology (Benard & Willer, 2007; Benenson et al, 2009; Fossett, 2011; Zhang, 2004), and social network analysis (de Marti & Zenou, 2017; Henry et al, 2011; Stadtfeld & Vörös, 2020).…”
