Possibility of amino acid nutrition in broiler

Abstract: The consumption of poultry meats exceeds 50% of total meat consumption. With the outbreak of bovine spongiform encephalopathy and foot and mouth disease, the consumption of poultry meat is set to increase. The use of meat bone meal derived from cattle and pigs is prohibited. Therefore, plant protein has to be used more frequently and the importance of the study of amino acid nutrition is increasing. In order to improve dietary efficiency, it is necessary to elucidate the exact amino acid requirements of poultr… Show more

“…Both deficiency and excess of amino acids, particularly lysine in this case, may impair the performance of the chickens. The body weight of poultry rises as the level of lysine rises in the diet, until an optimum level is achieved; after that, there is a reduction in body weight (Ishibashi and Yonemochi, 2002).…”

“…The high digestible protein of most animal feed makes them possible to formulate low FM, high nutrient concentrations of fish feed. In the past, the feedstuffs of animal origin were not generally used in aquaculture feed over concerns about their poor digestibility and unstable quality, especially about bovine spongiform encephalopathy and foot‐and‐mouth disease through meat meal‐based animal feed that are most frequently discussed by the general public (Bellagamba, Valfre, Panseri, & Moretti, ; Ishibashi & Yonemochi, ; Wilesmith, Ryan, & Hueston, ). Today, animal proteins have successfully and safely replaced or partially replaced FM, such as feather meal and meat and bone meal (Abwao, Safina, Ondiba, Ogello, & Obiero, ; Ai et al, ; Begum, Chakraborty, Zaher, Abdul, & Gupta, ).…”
