Portable Nanofiber-Light Addressable Potentiometric Sensor for Rapid Escherichia coli Detection in Orange Juice

Abstract: The growing need to prevent pathogen outbreaks is irrefutable in the case of the food industry. Early detection in products, especially beverages, contaminated with bacterial strains is vital to avoid infected foods from reaching the consumer. If E. coli is pesent in such foods, it can cause infections. It can also be an indicator of the existence of other harmful coliforms. In this study, we have investigated the detection of Escherichia coli ( E. coli) in orange juice using a portable nanofiber-light address… Show more

“…This decrease may be because the addition of virus solution not only creates hindrance of the electronic movement of the electrode but also increases solution resistance ( R sol ), decreasing the overall electroactivity. Thereafter, the current intensities decreased gradually when increasing concentrations of the viruses were added onto the surface of the electrode, which indicates that the attachment of virus molecules restricted the electron transfer process 3840 .…”
