Population Dynamics and Its Driving Forces in China from 2000 to 2020

Abstract: Exploring population dynamics and its driving factors has important practical significance for guiding reasonable population distribution. In view of this, this paper systematically analyzes the population dynamics and driving factors in China based on the latest three decennial censuses, using research methods such as the population concentration index, the center of gravity model, relative change in population density and multiple linear regression. The conclusions are as follows: (1) China’s population dist… Show more

“…With the rapid expansion of the new urban area and the quick development of the social economy, the intensity of land use and development in this area began to increase. Scholars have studied land-use change in this region, but most of these studies focused on change of land-use type, driving factors and ecological effects [30][31][32][33][34], and less are related to quantitative studies on land use degree and social and economic development. Therefore, based on the research of regional land-use change and its driving mechanisms, analyzing the interaction between land-use change and social economic growth is favorable to the region's sustainable development and can give decision-making suggestions for the creation of other new urban districts.…”
